Hiking Stone Mountain was an adventure. Bernice and I, started the day off early to hike the one mile 1,686 foot Civil War confederate memorial. That’s right, Stone Mountain is a historic mountain, engraved to honor confederate leaders during the Civil War. When you start your hike the first thing you’ll see are the variations of confederate flags flying high and I’m not going to lie, that put a sour taste in my mouth. With everything going on in the media, that’s the last thing I wanted to see. However once I accepted the history of the mountain and focus on the hike itself, it then became an enjoyable way to get in a morning workout.
Walking the mountain gives you a great time to kindle friendships, spark new romances or just an overall spiritual feeling of being one with nature.Bring your hiking shoes and come with me up up up!
History and other details to come.
